Spike Light (Focused/Spotlight): These fixtures use an optical lens (usually made of PMMA, Toughened Glass or Glass) placed directly over the LED to manipulate the light path.
Beam Angle: Very precise, typically ranging from 15°, 24°, to 36°. Light Reach: High "throw." The lens concentrates the photons, allowing the light to travel further up a tree or building. Visual Effect: Creates a sharp, defined "hot spot." It is used for Accenting.
Light Source: High-power COB (Chip on Board) or Single Power LEDs, Wattage: Commonly 6W, 9W, 12W, or 15W, and 18W and Best For: Tall palm trees, architectural columns, statues, or narrow wall grazing.
IP Rating: Look for IP65 (Dust-tight and water jet protected) or IP67 (Submersible for short periods) since these are outdoor fixtures. Material: Die-cast Aluminum is preferred over plastic for better heat dissipation (important for LED longevity).
